It’s the first time since the beginning of the spread of Covid-19 in early 2020 that travel starts to be possible in most destinations again. Thanks to the vaccines against Covid-19, most countries are reopening their borders. From summer, it should be possible to travel to Iran and Armenia, and Azerbaijan, while other destinations should reopen soon.

What’s the situation in different countries 1stQuest supports? Let’s have a look together.

Iran tourist visa is back in July

Vali Teimouri, VP of Tourism at the Ministry of Tourism and Handicraft of Iran, has announced in an interview to ISNA, an Iranian news agency, that authorities are working on a protocol to allow foreign visitors to enter Iran with a tourist visa.

According to him, it should be possible to apply for a tourist visa to Iran from the 6th of July, less than one month after his declaration. However, the date has not made official, and at the 6th of July, there was not update nor possibility to apply for visa yet.

Vali Teimouri has added that this decision had been made possible due to the progress of vaccination in Iran. The conditions to enter Iran will be defined soon to decide whether tourists must present a simple negative PCR test to enter Iran or if being vaccinated will be necessary.

Travel to Armenia is now possible

Armenia has been one of the first countries in the region to lift its restrictions on foreign travelers. Travelers from all countries can visit Armenia simply by presenting a negative PCR test. People who have a vaccine certificate do not have to show any PCR test.

Travel to Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan after a quarantine

Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan both currently have a similar policy for foreign travelers. They allow their entrance if they have a negative PCR test and also undergo a 14 days mandatory quarantine. Azerbaijan, however, is making an exception to this quarantine for people attending the Euro 2020 matches.

Travel to Oman is still not allowed

The Sultanate of Oman, which is currently facing a new surge of Covid19, has not yet lifted its restrictions on foreign travelers as well as lockdown measures. It is thus not possible for foreign visitors to enter Oman at the moment.
