Sa’dabad Complex is a huge garden where you can find one of the most fascinating collections of mansions built before the Islamic Revolution of 1979, when Iran was a monarchy.
In this experience, we’ll visit three of its most popular mansions, namely Kakh-e Sefid or Kakh-e Mellat (the White Mansion), Kakh-e Sabz (the Green Mansion) and the Royal Cars Museum.
The white mansion features one of its Iran’s biggest and most fascinating collection of rugs and dazzling chandeliers. Since this palace was the summer residence of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi (the last king or Shah of Iran) and his wife, Farah Pahlavi, the mansions reflect the glory and grandeur of the royal family to this day, and is known for the unique paintings covering its interior and its combining European and Persian architecture styles.
Next, we’ll visit the Green Mansion, the emerald of Sa’dabad Complex’s edifices. Its exterior is covered with uniquely green stones gathered from around Iran. It was used as a living, meeting, and work space by the Shah, and inside, it’s covered with tiny shards of mirror artfully placed. Here, you’ll also see some of the imported furniture and decorations each with great value.
Last but not least, we’ll pay a visit to the royal cars, the likes of which cannot be found anywhere else! Here, you’ll see some of the finest cars of brands such as Rolls-Royce and Mercedes-Benz among other ones.
To finish this cap day off, we’ll visit the palace’s cozy café and restaurant for a bite of yummy Persian dishes.
