Yazd, a city renowned for two things: unique sweets and a historical town. In this experience, we aim at burning off those calories you gained from eating its sweets by biking through Yazd’s historical neighborhood.
These neighborhoods have been listed by UNESCO as world heritage sites for their unique structure and design. Here, we get to pedal freely, without having to worry about city cars or buses, because the streets are too narrow for anything other than our bicycles.
First, you meet your energetic guide near the bike rental station of Fahadan (the most famous of Yazd’s historical towns), and after picking the right bike for you, we begin pedaling through the streets. Inside Yazd’s old town, the street walls are tall to provide shelter from the sun at all hours, some of them are even roofed, making for a popular dating spot for the local youth.
Riding in these neighborhoods, we have the chance to get familiar with desert cities’ architecture on an intimate level. You can touch the cob walls, glance at the wind catchers, and experience the lifestyle of the locals as a native would. Meanwhile, we’ll also pass by some of the city’s main attractions, including the photogenic Imamzadeh Jafar, Lariha House Museum, and Alexander’s Prison, so feel free to stop for a photo at any moment.
Burning off calories? Who said anything about burning off calories! We finish this unique experience with a big bite of a Persian traditional ice cream.
